The Peace Leadership Conference

The Global Peace Leadership Conference was organized on October 15-18, 2010 at the Gran melia Jakarta Hotel in Central Jakarta. The theme for the whole conference was " One Family Under God: New Interfaith Paradigm for the 21st Century". The conference was attended by nearly 300 participant; over one hundred from abroad.

Prior to that a leadership conference was held in Jakarta entitled "Peacebuilding 2010: Interfaith-Family-Service". It was organized April 10, 2010 at the Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, Jakarta in partnership with Indonesia Conference on Religion and Peace (ICRP). The conference focused on interfaith efforts essential for collaboration in a diverse culture like Indonesia.

From the Indonesian side, the attendees came from various background: religious leaders, NGO activists, scholars and educators, government officials, members of parliament, and student government and youth leaders. Providing the keynote address on this occasion was the guest of honor, Vice President Boediono. His presence at the conference reflects the Government of Indonesia's concern with the issue peace and religion in a nation with so much diversity amongst its vast population.
